Law enforcement officers rarely sit down at a desk; they move between writing reports, driving from scene to scene, and actively managing incidents all day.
Consumer-grade laptops and tablets will not stand up to this. They will crack when dropped onto the floor, will freeze in the winter, and will have poor visibility in bright sunlight.
